Motorcycle rider killed in accident on Highway 41

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Highway Patrol has identified the victim as 33-year-old Michael Manis.

The CHP says Manis lost control and fell off his bike on Highway 41 near Bullard. When he tried to get up, he was hit by the car behind him.

Officers say the driver of that car stayed at the scene for the investigation. The driver is not expected to face any charges.

"At this point, we believe it was strictly an accident. At this point, we don't think the motorist had done anything wrong, other than being at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Sgt. Mike Trenholm, CHP.

Officers do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
