Non-profit giving out free passes to national parks for Black Friday

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A non-profit is trying to start a new Black Friday tradition, and so far it seems to be popular.

Save the Redwoods is offering free passes at 49 of California's redwood parks after being inspired by REI's move to pay its employees to take Friday off and go outdoors instead of working.

The complimentary passes are so popular that most parks are out of the freebies. A total of 4,900 people have downloaded the passes, so far.
