FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Power has been restored to thousands of people in Fresno County after a car crashed into a power pole in Parlier on Sunday night. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at Mendocino and Manning avenues.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver fell asleep at the wheel, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The accident knocked out power to more than 2,100 homes in Parlier, Selma and Kingsburg. Service was restored to most customers by late Sunday night. PG&E expected to have power restored to the remaining customers by early Monday morning.
