California chase suspect attacked by police dog
The suspect led police on a chase, then stayed in a car for an hour before the dramatic end

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A car chase in California ended in a standoff right in front of a television station, reports KTXL. And the dramatic conclusion was caught on camera.

Before hitting play on the video above, we must warn you some people may find the video disturbing.

According to authorities, it all started when a suspect refused to pull over for a traffic stop in Sacramento. Police used spike strips to bring the pursuit to an end.

The suspect stayed in his car for more than an hour holding a gun to his head. He appeared to be drinking and smoking as he communicated with police.

Once he finally got out of the car, dropped the gun and put his hands in the air, he was tackled by a K-9 officer.

The suspect, whose family says suffers from mental illness, was bitten by the dog and treated for his injuries.
