MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Madera County Sheriff's Office is almost ready to move into their new headquarters.
They held a ribbon cutting ceremony today at the location near the airport on Falcon Drive in Madera. The building sits on 2.5 acres and has double the floor space as the old building.
Sheriff Jay Varney says the best part about the new building is that it has an emergency operations center, with space for multiple agencies to work in the case of a major incident.
"So operationally, I think it was a very smart design and I think we will be set in terms of technology well into the future," Varney said.
The sheriff says the move to the new building will happen in July.
