Rough Fire burns more than 4,700 acres in Sierra National Forest

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A wildfire burning east of Fresno in the Sierra National Forest is growing. The Rough Fire increased on Monday by nearly 1,000 acres to 4,754 acres, according to the U.S. Forest Service. No containment is reported.

Lightning ignited this fire on Friday, July 31, north of the Kings River. More than 200 firefighters are battling the flames.

Smoke from the fire may impact recreation areas like Hume Lake.
