Shooting in Atwater leads to car crash

ATWATER, Calif. (KFSN) -- Atwater police are investigating a shooting that led to a crash.

It happened near Buhach and Bellevue Roads around 7:00 Friday night. A man in a red car told officers he was trying to escape from a shooter when he ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a gray car.

Detectives did find three bullet holes in the red vehicle.

The driver of the red car was taken to the hospital for injuries he suffered in the crash, but he is expected to recover.

The other driver walked away with minor injuries.
