Southwest Fresno shooting leaves 2 people injured
Two people are in the hospital after they were shot in Southwest Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two people were taken to the hospital after they were shot in Southwest Fresno. Investigators say it happened around 8:45 p.m. Monday near Elm and Vine avenues.

Fresno police say a man and woman were in a red SUV, when another car pulled up and fired several shots. The man, who was driving, was last listed in critical condition at Community Regional Medical Center. The woman, who was in the passenger seat, is expected to survive her injuries.

The only description of the suspects so far is that they were driving a dark-colored vehicle. "We're still trying to determine if they knew one another, if there was any type of disturbance prior to. Right now, it's still early in the investigation," said Fresno Police Lt. Phil Cooley.
