Shooting causes crash in Merced
Merced police are investigating a shooting that caused a dramatic crash.

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police are investigating a shooting that caused a dramatic crash. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Yosemite Avenue at El Redondo Drive.

Officers say a 25-year-old man was driving a 4Runner when he heard gunshots. He said he was trying to get away when he crashed into a pole. The driver was pinned inside and later taken to the hospital with wounds to his lower body.

Investigators learned a second driver was grazed by a bullet during the incident. He left the scene but later stopped to talk to police on the way to the hospital.

There's no word yet on any suspects.
