Terrifying moments on a flight from Las Vegas to Fresno
Passengers say they heard loud booms as the plane's engine caught fire while they were in the air.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Passengers say they heard loud booms as the plane's engine caught fire while they were in the air.

The Allegiant Airlines jet left Las Vegas around 4 p.m. Saturday. One woman said she saw sparking near the left wing of the plane, possibly from the propeller. Flight 514 then quickly made an emergency landing back in Las Vegas just moments after a passenger recorded this video.

"I was trying to stay calm there was a passenger behind me who was screaming, she was crying she was having a panic attack and she was saying that she had children at home and that she was really worried about not being able to get home to them. There was people holding hands," said Danielle Rapue, passenger.

Rapue says once the plane landed in Las Vegas, she saw officers interviewing the pilot on the ground. Passengers eventually made it to their final destination in Fresno hours later on a different flight.

Allegiant Airlines hasn't released a statement regarding the incident.
