The Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino is about to get bigger
Over the next 14 months a flat piece of land that sits adjacent to the Tachi Palace will be transformed into a state of the art family-friendly entertainment center.

LEMOORE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Over the next 14 months a flat piece of land that sits adjacent to the Tachi Palace will be transformed into a 90,000 square foot state of the art family-friendly entertainment center.

Thursday members from the Tachi Yokut Tribal Council put shovels in the dirt to commemorate the groundbreaking for expansion.

"This is going to be a first class entertainment center which will continue the growth of the Tachi Yokut Palace Casino," said David Rees, Project Architect.

The multi-million dollar complex will add another 90,000 square feet to Tachi-- complete with a movie theater, bowling alley, and arcade. As well as a massive new food court.

"It's to attract families that come to our casino-- right now we don't have anything in there for the children to do," said Ruben Barrios, Tribal Council Chairman.

This new addition should take care of that-- the 42,000 square foot arcade will be a safe place for kids to take advantage of the latest in video gaming.

"The level of design and expertise is going to be what we feel better than anything in the area," said Rees.

While the tribe's vision is to bring more families to their casino-- this new project will also create dozens of new jobs.

"We're a rural community, jobs are always tough to find. So clearly this creates a synergy with the facility itself and adds to that," said Craig Peterson, Kings County Supervisor District 4.

The new entertainment center is expected to open October in 2018.
