Tulare Police say 68-year-old woman found dead in home

TULARE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities say at 1:45 p.m. they received a call to check on the welfare of a 68-year-old woman at the 200 block of E. Garfield Ave in Tulare after she failed to meet an appointment.

When officers arrived at the house they received no response at the door and proceeded to make entry into the home. Once inside officers found the 68-year-old deceased.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide. This is the ninth homicide this year in Tulare.

The name of the woman has not yet been released.

An Action News crew is on their way to the scene.
