LEMOORE, Calif. (KFSN) -- A new animal shelter in the Valley promises to be a safe haven for homeless dogs and cats.

Valley Animal Haven opened their adoption facility on D Street and 17th Avenue this week in Lemoore. The no-kill shelter has a variety of dogs and cats all waiting for homes.

"I was constantly bringing things home," said founder, Pam Brasil.

Brasil started Valley Animal Haven at her home and welcomed homeless dogs and cats. She estimates that she and her volunteers have had at least 100 animals so far in their care. Many of their animals were picked up just before they were scheduled to be euthanized.

"We wanted these animals to have another option," Brasil said.

Other animals were found abandoned.

The shelter is at 990 E. D St. Dogs can be adopted for $165 and cats for $80. They can be reached at (559) 997-3601 or valleyanimalhaven@gmail.com
