VIDEO: Vandalism suspect breaks out of Santa Cruz shop

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- Here's a new twist to an old story - a vandalism suspect breaking out of a shop in Santa Cruz.

Someone recorded the suspect, 20-year-old transient Anthony Starr, Sunday night as he broke through the glass door, climbed out and ran off.

Police caught up with him the next morning, sleeping in a doorway with dried blood on his clothes.

Starr told police he had a dream he cut himself while breaking out of a locked store. The officer informed Starr it wasn't a dream and took him into custody.
