Woman injured in Riverdale shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A woman is in the hospital this morning after being hit by gunfire in Fresno County.

The shooting happened early Thursday morning at a home on Monte and Terry in Riverdale. Deputies say it happened during a party when a fight broke out in the street. That's when someone fired several gunshots. One of those shots struck a woman in the hip, along with several vehicles.

"At this point, we don't know if a vehicle from a shooter is involved? Were they on foot?" said Sgt. James Turner, Fresno County Sheriff's Department. "Because people were fleeing every which way and direction. So right now, we're still trying to figure all that out."

The victim was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. Her condition is not known.

Deputies are searching for the suspects.
