Woodlake Veterans Memorial building gets renovation
Twelve volunteers and members of the community patched holes and painted walls and ceilings. They also replaced ceiling fans and refinished countertops.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- While the day is a holiday for most people, members of the family health care network partnered with a Rotary club to renovate the Woodlake Veterans Memorial building.

Twelve volunteers and members of the community patched holes and painted walls and ceilings. They also replaced ceiling fans and refinished countertops.

"This is a conference room that many of the local clubs, service organizations and schools use," Woodlake School District Superintendent Drew Sorensen said. "And so it hadn't had a facelift for 20 years, so we thought this would be a good way to spend a day."

Each year, volunteers with the family health care network participate in a local community service project for the national day of service.
