Fresno, Calif. (KFSN) -- They gathered in a circle, tears streaming down their faces -- One by one, stepping forward to share stories of a life just begun.

"I open the door and she told me my brother had passed away, you kind of just drop to the ground and hope that they are lying," said Falisha Hernandez, the victim's sister.

Cody James, 21, was headed to the Central Coast for a night out with friends. He and three others were on Highway 101, near the Cuesta Pass -- when the driver lost control.

"Anger, all that, it is irrelevant. We lost two young lives this morning, and we can never get them back," said Hernandez.

Investigators say 19-year-old Robert Jones was speeding and driving drunk. He survived -- but James, along with a 20-year-old woman, were ejected from the car.

"They are just as devastated. I knew Jubee, and now there's a little girl without her mom," Hernandez said.

For James' sisters -- Pain numbs all other emotions. Justice is an afterthought --especially for Hailey.

"We played basketball, we fought," said Hailey Hamilton, victim's sister.

Who never got a chance to make things right after their last fight.

"I love him," said Hamilton.
