One dead, one injured after shooting in Southwest Fresno
Fresno Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured at Valencia and Fruit Avenues.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured at Valencia and Fruit Avenues.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night. Multiple people called police.

Officer say when they arrived, they found two men laying in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to the hospital where one was pronounced dead. The other victim's condition is not yet known, but he is expected to survive.

"We're still looking into that, again multiple shots were fired it appears it occurred out in the street, not in a residence," said Fresno Police Lt. Michael Landon.

Officers believe the shooting happened in the street, and not in one of the nearby homes. At this time, the motive for the shooting is not yet known, and police have not identified a suspect.
