FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A resident at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo's bird exhibit has made his pick for this year's Super Bowl champion.

Lazarus the white-faced whistling duck got three chances to make his selection. His zookeeper placed two team-themed blankets in front of him -- one with Patriots print, the other with Seahawks print. And two times out of three, he went for Seattle.

"I think that the blues and greens are probably a little more natural colors that you'd find in the wild, so maybe that's why he had more of an affinity towards those colors," bird keeper Shayna Kramb said.

Orangutans usually make the Super Bowl picks, but they don't have a winning record. So this year, zoo officials decided to let another animal have a chance at the honors.
