TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who stole a dog from an animal shelter.

Detectives say someone cut through several different chain-link fences to snatch a pit bull from the Tulare County Animal Shelter. They say no other animals were touched during the break-in.

"The dog was scheduled to be euthanized shortly before this occurred, so we're looking for any and all potential suspects involved, and really if anyone has any information we encourage them to come forward with that to help out with the investigation," said Megan Rapozo with the sheriff's office.

Whoever took the dog is facing vandalism and theft charges.
