Yard and bake sale benefits Valley Animal Center

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dozens of people went shopping on Sunday to help local animals in need.

Donated clothes, figurines, kitchen appliances and plenty of sweet treats were up for sale at the Valley Animal Center's yard and bake sale in East Central Fresno. Kids could also stop by a face painting booth, and families had a chance to see some of the dogs and cats that are up for adoption.

All of the proceeds from Sunday's event benefit the no-kill shelter. If you missed the sale, staff members would love to see you stop by with change during their monthlong Pennies for Pets fundraiser.
