Police search for suspect who stabbed a man in Downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed in Downtown Fresno. The incident happened at around 11 Saturday morning near Fresno and E Street.

Police said the 36-year-old victim was trying to help his friend fight another man when he was stabbed right above the heart with a knife.

Authorities tell us the victim then ran toward a nearby fire station for help.

The suspect is described as a man in his 50's who was last seen wearing a yellow jacket.
