Just in time for the long Fourth of July weekend, we're all getting a slight break in gas prices.

On Wednesday, the California excise tax on gas dropped from 36 cents to 30 cents per gallon. The State Board of Equalization approved the six-cent price drop in February, and it will last until June 30th 2016.

Right now in the Fresno area, AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.39 per gallon.
