FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police officers are getting a new tool to help pinpoint the exact place bullets are fired. It's expected to cut down on the time it takes officers to respond to shootings.

The new gunshot detecting technology will help direct officers to dangerous situations before the gunpowder even settles. Beginning this summer, a three mile radius of Fresno, where the police chief says shootings are a problem, will be bugged. Listening devices will be installed on buildings and poles designed to detect gunfire.
