CLEVLAND, Ohio. (KFSN) -- Members of the California Republican Party are believed to have contracted the norovirus before they flew to Cleveland. Norovirus is highly contagious. symptoms include stomach pain and vomiting

Eleven people from the California delegation have come down with the virus. They have been isolated in their hotel rooms in Sandusky, Ohio. No Valley delegates have gotten sick and they hope it stays that way.

"It's pretty difficult to avoid it, especially in close quarters, so I would think it's just a matter of good luck if it starts to get really bad. Hopefully, they've contained the problem," said Tom Fife, Trump delegate.

Another delegate, Jeff Christensen, has been tweeting from the convention using the #abc30 insider.

Mike Der Manouel of Fresno snapped a picture with local CHP officers in Cleveland. The California Highway Patrol is among the various agencies assisting with crowd control and security.

"All the guys we were with were all from Fresno and Modesto, so that was the Central Divison there that I was standing with," said Der Manouel.

Der Manouel doesn't expect the day two message to be one of keeping the peace within the GOP party. The time has come to formally nominate Donald Trump.

"There's some Republicans that won't be voting for Trump. It's a real new mix of voter preference and Trump is not pandering. The one thing you will not see at this convention is the traditional pandering that goes on."

The said delegates that they were looking forward to hearing from Tuesday night's set of speakers.
