Man dies after being hit by train hand rail in Northwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators are looking into a fatal accident on the train tracks in Northwest Fresno.

It happened around 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Fresno Police say a man in his 30's was walking along the tracks at Shaw and Marks when an Amtrak train struck the man.

He died on the scene.

The conductor stopped the train, which was carrying about 17 passengers and contacted police.

Authorities do not believe this was a suicide.
