Man in critical condition after shooting near Fresno State

Fresno, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in critical condition after a shooting at Cedar and Shaw near Fresno State.

Around 9:45 p.m., two officers responded a shooting after hearing two shots fired. Witnesses nearby pointed to the center median where a 20-year-old male was found.

The victim was shot in the torso and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition.

Witnesses say suspects took off in a light-colored sedan.

Police say they do not know if the victim was shot inside the car and then dumped out, or if he was already in the area and made his way to the center median.

Police say they are looking through footage from the surrounding area to determine what happened and talking to witnesses.
