Survey shoppers still shopping for last minute Christmas gifts
Some shoppers are finishing up their Christmas gift list this week.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Some shoppers are finishing up their Christmas gift list this week.

"I start really early. I think I've been shopping since Thanksgiving and I can say I'm 100-percent done today," said Marisa Kupiak, Kingsburg.

A new Survey USA Poll of folks in the Fresno area shows 45-percent say they are finished with their shopping. Only eight-percent just started for a variety of reasons.

"I'm a teacher and I was waiting until school ended, it ended last week," said Desiree Apodaca, Merced.

"I'm in the military so I just got on leave right now and I just got to Fresno and now I'm gonna do my shopping," said Junior Palomo, Fresno.

The survey said folks were generally being conservative about spending-- most people expected to spend about the same, or just a little more or a little less this year. But those we talked to expected to spend more.

And the survey shows most shopping is still done in stores, with about 20-percent online.

The deals seem to be out there, 61-percent of those surveyed say they felt they are getting pretty good deals this year-- and there's three and a half days left.
