FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fun prints and colorful shirts are filling Ga Ga Chic Boutique in Northeast Fresno. The local kids clothing store is stocking up for back to school shoppers.

Abbie Farris said, "Usually around mid-August we start picking up for back to school shoppers and people are looking for new trends to see what's to see what's going to hit the playgrounds."

Farris is owner of Ga Ga Chic in the Park Place Shopping Center and says there are some fun trends this season.

Farris said, "With boys there's a lot of science graphics, lots of robots, space-type themes. With girls you'll see a bohemian look meets the 50s."

At Target, employees are also gearing up for stylish kids. Experts predict many families will spend around $100 to $200 per child for new clothing.

Soon to be sophomore, Natalie Curtis says she's been shopping all summer.

Curtis said, "I love looking at all the new stores and everything they have in style, it just works. All the purses and cute shoes."

Over at the Sierra Vista mall in Clovis, we got a look at some of the fashions from plaid to boho chic to pops of colors. Another big trend is a throwback to the 90's: the Birkenstock sandal. Le Bella Rose employees say they've stocked up on a variety of colors and sizes.

Helen Olive with Le Bella Rose said, "We've had to restock three times, so they're going pretty quickly."

So from head to toe, store owners say picking the perfect wardrobe, can help a student feel and look their best.

Farris added, "So we should expect the same for our kids and they are going to go to school and feel confident about themselves and express themselves in a way we can all agree upon."

And experts say don't forget to have a little fun while you're out shopping, getting your student stylish for the new school year.
