SELMA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A small plane made a crash landing near Selma Monday. There were two people inside-- a flight instructor and a student.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said the engine was having problems while the student was flying and the instructor took over. It landed in a field next to Highway 99 just south of Manning and flipped on impact.

Fortunately, both people walked away from the crash.

"As it landed, the plane tipped over. And fortunately they were able to walk away sustaining some minor injuries," said Sgt. Adam Esmay, Fresno County Sheriffs Office.

The Sheriff's Office said the plane was headed to Sacramento when it went down.
