FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Dozens of Jewish people gathered in North Fresno on Sunday to celebrate the sixth day of Hanukkah with a lighting ceremony.

Rabbi Levy Zirkind hosted this Hanukkah celebration in the Party City parking lot at Blackstone and Alluvial avenues. Visitors could play traditional games and feast on Jewish food and chocolate gelt. At sundown, they lit the ceremonial menorah to help spread more light in dark times.

"This is one of the only Commandments that we have to do is to bright up the street, bright up the darkness, to show everybody the more we show light, the more we chase away darkness," said Rabbi Zirkind. "That's the only way to chase away darkness is with light and good deeds."

Rabbi Zirkind says he brings the ceremony to public places to get people of other faiths curious about Jewish customs.
