Central Valley Honor Flight named Non-Profit of the Year
The organization's Vice President and several veteran volunteers were in Sacramento for the event.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Central Valley Honor Flight organization received the Non-Profit of the Year award Wednesday. The organization's Vice President and several veteran volunteers were in Sacramento for the event.

The Honor Flight's mission is to make sure World War II veteran's get the chance to visit the memorial.

The non-profit has raised more than $1.5 million since 2013 and it's sent more than 550 veterans to Washington, D.C.

Those applications are now slowing down.

Next up are applications for Korean War veterans to see their monument.
