Community Food Bank ramps up efforts for the holidays
'Tis the season of giving and there are plenty of volunteer opportunities you can take advantage of throughout the Valley.

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- 'Tis the season of giving and there are plenty of volunteer opportunities you can take advantage of throughout the Valley.

One of them is Community Food Bank where volunteers are already getting the day started.

This is one of the busiest times of year for the food bank and volunteers are working hard. They serve 280 thousand people each month in a five county area. More than a third of those people are children.

Around the holidays is when the need is greatest. They have several programs that distribute food. Partner agencies include neighborhood markets, mobile pantries and backpack program, are all integral parts of feeding the hungry in our community.

If you can't volunteer, donations are always welcome. Every dollar donated provides seven meals.
