SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) -- A community is now rallying around victims of an apartment fire in Sanger to show them they are not alone.

The fire started in the attic at the Driftwood Apartment Complex near Jenson and Bethel. Family members said a stove top fire rekindled burning down several units.

Thursday, more than a dozen businesses threw a fundraiser with food, music, and drinks; all the money going to the families who were impacted.

"Something like this that happens in the community, we just go together because we are one family, one tribe, that's why it was very easy for everybody to come out and show their support," said Mike Paredes, fundraiser organizer.

The fundraiser also included raffle tickets while several neighbors dropped off food and clothing for the victims who lost everything.
