Fireworks officially go on sale on Wednesday
The 4th of July may be a week away, but people are already preparing for the big day with fireworks.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The 4th of July may be a week away, but people are already preparing for the big day with fireworks.

They go on sale Wednesday and there are dozens booths to choose from-- all raising money for non-profit organizations. The Clovis Junior Soccer League booth at Herndon and Fowler will use the money raised to benefit the organization that provides soccer programs for about 5,000 youngsters.

"Oh absolutely-- the fact it allows us more versatility and programs as needed," said Summer Whitley, Clovis Jr. Soccer League.

July 4th is the only day you can use approved safe and sane fireworks in a number of cities throughout the Valley.

Firefighters want to remind people to stay 20 feet away from structures when setting off fireworks. Also keep a garden hose ready in the event a fire starts and make sure the person handling the fireworks is at least 16-years-old.
