Fresno 5th-grader recites entire Declaration of Independence in Sacramento

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno 9-year-old with a knack for memorization put his skill on display at the state capitol Monday.

Nathan Bond was joined by state assemblyman Jim Patterson as he recited the entire Declaration of Independence by heart.

The 5th-grader started memorizing the document as a challenge from his father.

It took him just two months to get it right.

Nathan wants to be a constitutional lawyer someday.

He has also memorized Article I and II of the constitution as well as every U.S. President.
