Fresno community members get together to continue conversation about police violence

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Just one day after the Black Lives Matter protest from Fresno to Clovis, some community members got together to continue the conversation about police violence.

About 100 people stood outside St. Rest Baptist Church in Southwest Fresno, calling for peace and understanding.

People from all background attended the event where religious leaders from different churches across the Valley spoke.

The organization Faith in Community planned the event and said it's the first of many to come.

"Tonight is not going to solve anything. It's just a way of creating the space for people to hear the pain of what's happening in our neighborhoods," said Bryson White, Faith in Community.

The meeting ended in prayer, and organizers invited those who attended to participate in a second protest held by Black Lives Matter this Wednesday at the Courthouse.
