FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno family is reunited with a stolen basketball hoop that belonged to their late son. On Tuesday, they celebrated its return on the anniversary of their son's death.
Raelene and Randy Robinson said they were devastated when they found their son's basketball hoop was snatched from their street this past weekend. It belonged to 12-year-old Jeremy Robinson who died in a crash twelve years ago Tuesday. They posted a sign asking for its return. Then on Sunday, they got a tip that someone dropped the hoop off at a nearby elementary school. Tuesday -- they celebrated Jeremy's life -- and kids played with the neighborhood landmark.
"All of our friends and neighbors and family came out to come beside us and help us get through the day and it's everything I could've ever wanted and I know Jeremy's smiling down and saying hey that's for me!" said Jeremy's mom Raelene Robinson.
The Robinson's say they have no anger toward the thief -- and are so thankful that whoever stole it -- brought it back.
