Fresno ice cream giveaway benefits Salvation Army
An ice cream giveaway in Downtown Fresno had a double purpose.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An ice cream giveaway in Downtown Fresno had a double purpose. At Courthouse Park Tuesday afternoon, volunteers with Save Mart dished out scoops of ice cream as part of the 10,000 Scoop Challenge.

For every scoop eaten, $1 will be donated to the Salvation Army Fresno Citadel Corps to support its ongoing programs. Their goal was to give away 10,000 scoops of moose tracks, and they accomplished that goal.

It was an event that brought out plenty of people of all ages -- all to enjoy a delicious treat.
