FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Police Department showed off its lighter side on Saturday in Southeast Fresno.

Many police officers spent the day with kids and community members at Vang Pao Elementary School. People who came out were treated to free music, carnival games, bounce houses and plenty of great food.

The event is meant to foster healthy relationships with the youth and at-risk neighborhoods. Fresno police say events like this show what the police department is really about -- community involvement.
