Los Banos 911 dispatchers thanked with 'survival kits'
911 dispatchers are often called the most important people you'll never see, and now one North Valley community is saying thank you for the work they do.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- 911 dispatchers are often called the most important people you'll never see, and now one North Valley community is saying thank you for the work they do.

Volunteers with the Los Banos Watchdogs Facebook group delivered goody bags to the city's dispatchers this week. The bags were filled with items that hold special meaning.

For example, they had Life Savers candy because the dispatchers save lives and Smarties to give wisdom during split-second decisions. The so-called "survival kits" also contained gift cards to Starbucks and Subway. The items were all donated by local families and businesses.

The Los Banos Watchdog group held a similar event for police officers back in September.
