FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The future of a Downtown Fresno landmark is uncertain this evening. If enough money isn't raised the Old Fresno Water Tower could be shut down.

The 109 foot tall tower is owned by the city but is run by the Fresno Arts Council.

According to the non-profit a PG&E price hike has caused some financial problems for the tower's operations. The Fresno Art Council Board has given the Fresno Arts Council six months to raise the money they need to get out of debt-- $8,000.

Officials said about 3,000 people visit the tower each year to check out the local artwork that is on display inside the historic building.

Anyone interested in helping can make donations to the Fresno Arts Council or simply support by shopping at the tower's gift shop.

They are open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on Art Hop nights they are open a little later.
