FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Visalia held its first-ever Gay Pride Festival Saturday at The Old Lumber Yard.

The event featured a community mural project, a fashion show, and even a gay wedding.

Despite being the first one, more than a thousand people attended. Organizers say it was relatively comfortable despite the triple digit temperatures.

"We're really excited, it's been a wonderful event," organizer Brian Poth said. "We've got misters - squirt guns. Everyone seems to be having a great time."

There is an after-party Saturday night at the Cellar Door in Visalia.

The cover is just $5.
