WNBA Star Ruthie Bolton Will Share Story of Surviving Abuse
Marjaree Mason Center is prepping for its annual Top Ten Professional Women and Leading Business Awards on Friday, October 13th. The keynote speaker is WNBA star Ruthie Bolton who will share her story of surviving an abusive relationship.
Marjaree Mason Center director Nicole Linder says the center provided over 40,000 nights of safe housing and transitional housing last year. The awards luncheon is its biggest fundraiser. It honors women who have succeeded in their respective careers and have also given back to the community. Marjaree Mason Center's 120 bed Fresno Safe House is the largest stand-alone safe house in the state of California.
Linder sat down with Valley Focus host, Margot Kim to talk about this year's luncheon, Bolton's message and efforts to help children and families who are dealing with abusive relationships.
