Aaron Judge Mania Hits Oakland
Former Diamond Dog is garnering a lot of attention for great start to season

OAKLAND, Calif. (KFSN) -- Former Fresno State star and Yankees phenom Aaron Judge is back in the Bay Area and close to his hometown of Linden. Judge is leading the majors in homeruns with 22. And even though it's only Mid-June, he's right there in terms of the Triple Crown in the American League.

Aaron Judge mania has officially hit the bay area. The Yankees opening up a 4-game set here in Oakland. Just how big has the former Diamond Dog gotten? The media waited more than 30 minutes to sit and talk to him. The fans when they could get in the ballpark rushed down the steps just to get a glimpse taking batting practice. It's all a very surreal experience for the former Diamond Dog.

"You always dream about certain situations and to play in a World Series and stuff like that. It's pretty surreal what's happening and all I can do is thank my teammates," said Judge.

"He's been a complete player. Offensively, defensively, running the bases he's done a really good job. He's made adjustments to his game," added Yankees Manager Joe Girardi.

"He's quiet. Goes about his business and shows the fact that he for the team and with the team. Wanting to do that right things, it's natural for him." Said Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson

That's some pretty high praise from Mr. October himself, Reggie Jackson, kind enough to stop with Action News and talk the former diamond dog. Now the all-star game is coming up, make sure to get your vote in for Aaron. He already leads the American League but it never hurts to add another vote to that tally.
