Baltimore Ravens' Lamar Jackson sets NFL record for most wins (35) under the age of 25

BALTIMORE --Lamar Jackson recorded his least productive game of the season, and the Baltimore Ravens quarterback still broke an NFL record.

With Sunday's 34-6 rout of the Los Angeles Chargers, Jackson set the NFL record for the most wins by a quarterback under the age of 25 since the 1970 merger. His 35th victory moved him past Dan Marino.

Jackson, who threw for a season-low 167 yards passing and two interceptions, was more subdued than celebratory when told of the record.

"That's pretty cool, I guess," Jackson said. "I don't know to say after that. It's cool. Got to keep going."

By winning the battle of first-place teams, the Ravens are now 5-1, which is currently the best record in the conference. The Buffalo Bills (4-1) play at the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.Unlike most of the 2021 season, Baltimore won on the strength of its running game and defense, not Jackson.

Jackson is now 35-8 and doesn't turn 25 until Jan. 7. No quarterback under the age of 25 has won more than 30 games in the past two decades.

"That's the biggest one," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of the record. "I promise you, that's the one Lamar is the most proud of and that's one we're all most proud of, absolutely."

It's been quite a turnaround for Baltimore under Jackson. The Ravens were 44-45 (.494) between winning the Super Bowl in 2012 and Jackson taking over as the starter midway through the 2018 season.Baltimore has won 81% of its games with Jackson as its starter.

This record comes six days after Jackson became first player in NFL history with 400 yards passing, four touchdown passes, no interceptions and 50 yards rushing in Baltimore's 31-25 overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night.

Asked if records mean anything to him, Jackson said, "We are on a roll for something else. If we break records, it happens. But we want something else."
