If it wasn't obvious by the picture on his Twitter profile, Brandon Belt embraces the nickname "Baby Giraffe."

So much so, in fact, that the San Francisco Giants first baseman is taking to Twitter to get in contact with fans who wore giraffe costumes in his honor during Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

This isn't the first time this year that a Giants fan has been spotted in the stands sporting giraffe paraphernalia. When San Francisco was on the road against the Atlanta Braves last month, a man sitting near home plate at Turner Field was spotted with a giraffe stuffed animal on his head.

The 6-foot-5 Belt earned the "Baby Giraffe" nickname as a rookie in 2011 from broadcaster Duane Kuiper, who noted that Belt looked like the animal while playing the field.

Of course, animal nicknames are a bit of a trend in San Francisco, as former Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval's Kung Fu Panda moniker was embraced by fans and Sandoval himself.
