Bulldogs react to Mountain West Preseason Football Poll
Fresno State predicted to finish last in West Division

LAS VEGAS (KFSN) -- Ever since the Fresno State Bulldogs joined the Mountain West, they have been at the top or near the top of the preseason polls. That is not the case on Tuesday where the Bulldogs found themselves dead last. Six out of six in the West Division, but Head Coach Jeff Tedford and his players had expected that a 1-11 206 campaign.

"I don't really have a thought on that. It's just rankings is rankings. No one knows how the season is going to go. Everyone is 0 to 0 right now. I just feel like we'll go in and show everyone what we're really about," said #3 Keesean Johnson, Wide Receiver.

"After last season, I'm assuming I came in here knowing that everyone was going to count us out. And rankings came out; it doesn't really matter to me whether we're first or last. It doesn't change our attitude. We've got to go in, we've got to win games," said #91 Nathan Madsen, Defensive Lineman. "We need to finish. I mean you clearly look at our record last year you'd see we weren't that great of a team. But if you go back and look at those games a lot of them were really close. They came down to the 4th quarter or even as little as a play."

"That's fine with me. It really doesn't mean anything. Give us a little extra motivation, put a chip on our shoulder," said Tedford. "It's not like we need it, because kids are already motivated to be successful. And to do what we know what we can do and have Fresno be where it needs to be in this conference, so."

Although the news was not great for Fresno State, there are a lot of Valley connections to note and tell you about.

Five players named to the All-MW Offense or Defensive teams, led by Josh Allen, the Wyoming QB out of Firebaugh High School, was named the Mountain West preseason offensive player of the year.
