FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local sporting event is raising money to help a wounded Fresno firefighter. The Fresno Senior Softball League is holding a slow-pitch tournament at Quigley Field in Central Fresno this weekend.

There are two divisions: for people ages 50 and up or 60 and up. Each team also includes at least one Fresno firefighter.

The tournament is raising money to support Captain Pete Dern and his family. Dern is still in the hospital with severe burns after falling through the roof of a home that went up in flames last month.

The tournament continues Sunday morning. Quigley Field is located at Dakota and Teilman avenues.
