FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno State Bulldog softball team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011, but man the NCAA seeding committee did not do the girls any favors.

The Bulldogs gathered on campus Sunday night for a watch party at Josephine Theatre, and learned they are headed to the Eugene Regional, hosted by the number two team in the country, the Oregon Ducks. Fresno State will play North Dakota State on Thursday at 2 p.m. Pacific, while Pac-12 champion Oregon faces the final team in the regional, BYU.

All four teams in the regional won their respective conferences this season. San Diego State finished second in the Mountain West, but they earned an at-large bid and got put in the UCLA regional. And the Bruins finished second in the Pac-12, to Oregon!

Regardless of who's playing where, these Bulldogs are really excited to be back in the postseason.

"It's a comfortable draw for us," said Bulldogs head coach Trisha Ford. "We're pretty familiar with Oregon, we played them earlier this year. North Dakota State had a great year and BYU, all teams that had great years and I'm excited. We're coming in there hopefully to make some noise."

"Regardless of who are playing, like coach always preaches we worry about us," said senior outfielder Brenna Moss. "We worry about what we do. On the field and off the field. North Dakota State, Oregon, whoever we're playing it's just going to be about us and going out there and playing how we play."
